History

The Club Dates back to 1984 when three car enthusiasts started the club to provide more interest at a local level, something not provided by the large single marque clubs.

The Club welcomes all makes, both pre and post war, with members’ cars ranging from 1911 and pre-war right up to modern historic vehicles such as Austin, Morris, Rover, Austin Healey, MG and more recent modern classics. Variety, they say, is the spice of life.

The W&DYCC is a small club for enthusiasts who like to use their cars and actively encourages participation by members and their partners. This adds significantly to the Club’s success by the whole family enjoying the hobby.

A monthly Newsletter is produced giving both a wide variety of motoring articles as well as keeping members up to date with both past and future activities. A monthly meeting is held, roving to various country pubs in the summer and using a regular pub venue during the winter. Many a member’s technical problem has been solved by using the wide car experience within the Club.

Whether you are new to this hobby, or an old hand, come and join us and enjoy being part of a group who do things together and with such a collective knowledge, help each other when problems arise.

Membership is only £15.00 (electronic email newsletter) / £22.00 (printed newsletter posted) per year, a bargain when you consider the benefits and as a family club the pursuits covered can be as varied as the cars we drive.
